Ran for a year with no problems but now I have the code again. P0302 & P0316 – The day I bought the truck I got an engine light and had the dealer (used car) send it to a mech next door and rebuild the heads. I have also found that I have oil on the treads of my plugs, not the ends just the threads. It is visible, I cleaned it, it rattles, I swapped it, I unplugged it, no changed. What I have found is that I am feeding oil up through my PCV. No smoke, no spots and I park in the same spot at home, no leaks I can find and even got some of that florescent oil additive and nothing. Oil – about a quart after every two or three fill ups.
I also have oil loss (about 8 months) that may or may not be related. I have a 2004 Ranger Edge V6 3.0 with a P0302 and P0316 code (about a month now) that has me stumped.
